Nobody knew what the hell it was when it launched and there were a ton of problems early on. But through steady work and development, they got the whole thing working pretty good for one brief, shining moment annnndddd then GM decided to kill the car. Or in Gawker’s situation, replace the working version with another buggy new one.

I’d buy the crap out of a 88 Formula. I prefer the notchback to the glass buttresses.

for me the 88 gt was my dream car as a kid.

And like A Fiero, all Kinja needs is a Supercharged LS7 swap to make it good.

I’ve ALWAYS wanted an ‘88 Formula.
My friend in Michigan has an ‘84 Pace Car replica that was actually at the Indy 500 in 1984. It was one of the display cars.

I wanted an ‘88 Formula when I set my sights on buying a ‘cool’ car in college. I wound up buying a Miata because one of them not clapped out was much easier to find than a Fiero, and not much more expensive for a much newer car. Go figure.
The Fiero is still on my list though.
